There is something amazing about fall. The air gets a little cooler, the leaves start to change color and people begin to look ahead to the upcoming holidays. The Canary Islands don't celebrate Thanksgiving (it is an American holiday after all). Each year around this season It was very difficult to see the Christmas decorations go up in every store without any beautiful signs that say "give thanks" or fall foliage decor. So one year while we were still on the field, we invited our friends in the church in Las Palmas to celebrate Thanksgiving with us where we emphasized the importance of being thankful for what we had and the friends around us. It was a success. That is what makes Thanksgiving one of our absolutely favorite holidays. It's the time of the year where it's not about what you can get but rather being thankful for what you already have. A time where we can stop from our busy schedules and be thankful for the people that surround us and thank God for everything He has done. Where we can gather around a table with our friends and family and enjoy one another's company (and enjoy eating until we can't eat anymore). We have been visiting churches from all over Florida these last few months sharing our hearts to see the Gospel spread in the Canary Islands. We have met some amazing Pastors and made so many new friends. We come into this Thanksgiving grateful for itineration. Thankful for the opportunity to meet so many great people and to visit different churches that have such a heart for missions and to see their communities and the world changed by the power of the Gospel. So from our family to yours, thank you for being so welcoming to us, thank you for allowing us to share our hearts to see the Gospel spread and thank you for partnering with us both prayerfully and financially to see the Canary Islands impacted with the life changing power of Christ.
